Guidelines for safety of wirelessly operated cranes

Anand Systems679 25-Dec-2019

1. Purpose

In order to improve the safety of wirelessly operated cranes, these guidelines are in addition to matters specified in the Safety Regulations for Cranes, etc. It stipulates the structural requirements deemed particularly necessary for safety and their management and operation.

2. Scope

This guideline applies to cranes that are remotely operated wirelessly by operating devices held by the driver (hereinafter referred to as “wirelessly operated cranes”).

Remarks: In the case of adopting the wireless operation method for the climbing crane used in the construction work, the conditions of operation and the like change depending on the progress of the construction. Therefore, it is necessary to check the conformity to the requirements of this guideline every time climbing.

Guidelines for safety of wirelessly operated cranes

3. Definition

a) Operation equipment A device

that incorporates a push-button switch, joystick switch, etc., and transmits a command signal by radio waves or the like by operating the push button switch, joystick switch, etc.

b) Receiving device This is a device

that receives command signals such as radio waves from the operating device and sends control signals corresponding to the operation to the control panel of the crane.

c) Push-button switch

The crane equipment manufacturers India operation that opens and closes contacts by pressing a button with a finger in the axial direction, and automatically returns immediately after releasing the finger.

d) Joystick switch A joystick switch

that outputs a signal according to the angle at which the operating lever is tilted in the XY axis direction. However, one or more of the following functions shall be provided to stop the operation of the crane immediately after releasing the hand from the switch.

1. A function to automatically return the lever to the neutral position when the hand is released from the operating lever.

2. A push button switch is provided on the head of the lever, and the push button switch automatically returns when the finger is released from the push button switch. function

4. Structure and function

4.1 Operating device

4.1.1 Power switch The

operating device is provided with a switch for turning the power on and off.

In addition, it is desirable to provide a power-on "on" indicator light on the operation device or the crane body at a position that is easy for the driver to see.

4.1.2 Stop switch The

operating device shall be provided with a stop switch that can immediately stop the operation of the crane.

However, this does not apply when the operation of the crane can be stopped by operating the power switch “OFF”.

The crane shall not be restarted immediately by releasing the stop switch. Restarting is possible by operating a switch provided for starting purposes (such as a power “ON” switch).

4.1.3 Operation switch When

using the push button switch for hoisting, traversing, traveling, etc., the operation of the crane shall be stopped automatically when the driver removes his / her finger from the push button switch. The operation switch must be provided with an effective height guard ring or the like in order to prevent the danger of being activated by accidental contact.

When using a switch element that turns on and off using a magnet, such as a reed switch or Hall element, as a push-button switch, use a caution label on the operating device that prohibits use near devices that generate strong magnetism. Paste.

When using the joystick switch to perform hoisting, traversing, traveling, etc., the operation of the crane shall be automatically stopped when the driver releases his / her joystick switch.

Also, the joystick switch must be provided with an interlock circuit or the like in order to prevent a risk of being operated due to unexpected contact. The interlock circuit must output signals only while pressing a guard ring of an effective height or a push button switch provided on the lever head.

4.1.4 Other operating devices such as switches may be provided with switches for warning, lighting, speed switching, etc.
