  • For a long time, the iPad has enabled handwriting recognition for Simplified Chinese and other non-Roman character languages. The iPad includes a 'Scribble' feature that converts handwritten English into typed characters starting with iPadOS 14.
  • Enter text in Notes with the Apple Pencil.
  • Tap the Handwriting tool in the Markup toolbar (to the left of the pen). Scribble instantly turns your handwriting into typed text when you write with an Apple Pencil.
