How does the Instagram algorithm work?
  • Instagram claims that each section of the app has its own algorithm. That is to say, the Feed algorithm is not the same as the Explore page method. The Explore page, on the other hand, employs a different algorithm than Reels. This is due to the fact that how consumers interact with different portions of the app changes.
  • Post data - The Instagram algorithm considers a post's popularity in terms of likes.
  • Detailed information on the poster – Instagram examines signals including how often you connect with the individual and if those interactions are recent to determine how important the person is to you.
  • User activity — Instagram tries to figure out what you're interested in based on things like how many posts you've liked and the types of material you engage with.
  • Interaction history — Instagram looks at signals such as whether or not you comment on their posts to get a better understanding of your overall interest in seeing material from that user.
  • All of this data is then used by the Instagram algorithm to forecast how likely you are to interact with a particular post.
