  • The advantage of the Mac is that it is a UNIX-based system, which is commonly used in computer science classes. The majority of development software is written for UNIX-based computers, which are the most popular in the business. Furthermore, users can install Windows on a Mac using Virtual Machine or Oracle (both free), and it will function as if it were a real Windows PC.
  • Macs are more stable, with fewer unexpected shutdowns, a more user-friendly interface, and no forced system updates. However, despite all of these advantages, the expense of a Mac is a disadvantage.
  •  In general, the graphics card isn't as good as one found on a Windows machine in the same price range, but it's more than adequate for computer science courses.
