On the home screen, a widget is a little gadget or control for your Android application. Widgets are useful because they let you to instantly access your favourite programmes by placing them on your home screen. You've probably seen widgets like the music widget, weather widget, clock widget, and so on.
Information widgets, collection widgets, control widgets, and hybrid widgets are all examples of widgets. We have a complete framework to create our own widgets with Android.
App widgets are small application views that can be placed in other apps (like the home screen) and get changes on a regular basis. In the user interface, these views are known as widgets, and you can publish one using an app widget provider (or widget provider). An app widget host (or widget hos) is a component of an app that can hold additional widgets.
