The following steps will show you how to disable auto sorting and formatting in a pivot table.

• We have a pivot table like the one below, and we don't want it to execute auto sorting when it's refreshed.
• We can easily accomplish this by using the Sort option in the Pivot table Options.
• Right-click on the pivot table and select Sort->More Sort Options.
• You'll see a window box similar to the one below, and then click More Options.
• To stop auto sort in pivot table after refresh, uncheck the 'Sort automatically every time the report is updated' option in the window box shown below and hit OK. When you refresh the pivot table in Excel after removing this option, it will no longer auto sort.
