  • The ribbonis a Microsoft-created user interface element that debuted with Microsoft Office 2007. The menu bar and toolbar are combined into a single floating window as part of the 'Microsoft Office Fluent' design. In Office apps like Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook, the ribbon is situated at the top of the screen by default.
  • The ribbon's aim is to allow easy access to frequently performed actions within each software. As a result, each application's ribbon is unique and contains commands that are particular to that program. In addition, multiple tabs at the top of the ribbon are used to reveal separate groups of commands.
