- He is worth $3.4 billion, according to Forbes, and currently resides in Dubai after refusing to cooperate with Russian secret services and release encrypted data of Vkontakte users.
- He obtained citizenship in Saint Kitts and Nevis after leaving Russia by paying $250,000 to the country's Sugar Industry Diversification Foundation and securing US$300 million in cash in Swiss banks, allowing him to create Telegram.
