- Open your device's file browser.
- To access WhatsApp's database, go to WhatsApp > Database. All of the WhatsApp backup files that are kept locally are stored in the database.
- Long press the'msgstore.db.crypt12' file and then click on edit name. Rename the file to'msgstore backup.db.crypt12'. To prevent it from being overwritten, we renamed the file.
- Select and rename the most recent backup file to'msgstore.db.crypt12'.
- Now, on your phone, open Google Drive and hit the three vertical lines menu in the top right corner.
- Delete your WhatsApp backup by going to 'Backups'.
- Now, remove and reinstall WhatsApp. Because you don't have a cloud backup, you'll be asked to restore WhatsApp from a local backup during installing.
- Tap the 'Restore' option after selecting the'msgstore.db.crypt12' file.
