  • Microsoft Word is a word processing programme that was first released in 1983 by Microsoft. It is the most widely used word processing programme. It is used to create professional-looking papers, letters, reports, resumes, and other documents, as well as to edit or change existing ones. The.docx extension refers to a document saved in Microsoft Word.
  • Create a new Word document and type your text in it. by file>new>blank document
  • In the top left-hand corner of the screen, select File.
  • Select Save from the menu. A dialogue box with the word 'Save' will appear. The folder where you'll be saving the document will appear at the top and left of the list of folder selections. If you want to change this folder, use the left-hand side of the dialogue box to navigate among the directories and select the one where you want to save your work.
  • Based on the first few words of your text, Word will automatically name your document. If you don't like the default, type a name for your document in the 'File name' box after you've selected the destination folder. Make a name for the document that is short but allows you to locate it quickly.
  • After you've entered in your document's name, click Save.
