Redditors who give their time to assist guide and create Reddit's many communities are known as moderators, or mods for short.
- Each Reddit community has its own purpose, look, and regulations, such as what posts are appropriate for that community and how users should act.
- Mods can accomplish a variety of things in their communities, including:
- Make it clear that their posts or comments are moderator submissions.
- Their community's posts and comments will be removed.
- Spammers and other Redditors who may be violating community rules should be barred from posting or commenting in your community. Other Redditors can be made moderators.
- A list of the moderators of a community may be found on the right sidebar of the website. On the mobile app, the list of moderators may be seen under the About page of a community. Moderators are not Reddit employees and have no unique abilities outside of the community they oversee.
