IIT Hyderabad is cooperating with NVIDIA to create India's inaugural 'NVIDIA AI Technology Centre' (NVAITC) to advance AI research and commercialization.
IIT Hyderabad and NVIDIA have collaborated to develop India's first NVAITC (NVIDIA AI Technology Centre) to advance AI research and commercialization. The inauguration took place on July 9th, 2020, and was preceded by a Tech Session on AI-related issues.
IIT Hyderabad has previously purchased 3 NVIDIA DGX-1TM machines and 2 NVIDIA DGX-2TM machines for AI research at the institution. In addition, the institution is acquiring more similar servers in the following months. The NVAITC would expedite study for professors at IIT Hyderabad operating in different fields of AI, with an emphasis on boosting AI research inAgriculture and Smart Cities, in addition to Language Understanding. Among the initiatives that will be undertaken are boosting agricultural output via the use of AI algorithms and implementing AI-based techniques to promote safer rail networks and improved traffic management.
