The India Tourism Development Corporation is a government-owned hotel, retail, and education corporation that falls under the Ministry of Tourism in India. It was founded in 1966 and now owns around 17 hotels in India under the Ashok Group of Hotels name.

Sambit Patrais an Indian politician who has served as the Bharatiya Janata Party's national spokesman since 2014 and is presently the head of the tourism department. Patra's first work was at the Hindu Rao Hospital. In 2017, he was appointed to the board of directors of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited as an independent director. Patra was named Chairman of the India Tourism Development Corporation on November 30, 2021.
