• The OTPs are used by the hackers to lock the original users out of their accounts before stealing their funds.
• The bots may also be purchased for roughly $300 each month on Telegram.
• Hackers are using bots on the messaging platform to convince investors to reveal their two-factor authentication, which is then used by hackers to log into the account, shut out the original users, and clean the house.
• The OTP bots automate the entire procedure so that it can be done at scale, rather than needing to socially engineer lengthy dialogues over the phone or through text messages. As a result, there will be more attacks – and more victims.
