Steps to  stop Outlook from sending an update:

  • If you alter the location of a meeting, you may need to use a workaround to prevent Outlook from sending out an update automatically. The key is to switch the program to offline mode. To do so, go to the Send/Receive tab and select Work Offline from the drop-down menu.
  • Update your calendar entries information in offline Outlook, then click Send Update.
  • Change your mail view to ctrl + 6, then find the 'outbox' and delete that email.
  • If you switch to online work, your attendees will not receive any notifications; nevertheless, in this case, only you will be able to see the updates.
