How do I fix formatting in Word to PDF?

  • Open the document in Microsoft Word. To open the Word document in Microsoft Word, double-click it.
  • If you haven't already done so, open Word, then select Blank Document and fill in the blanks as needed before continuing.
  • Select File. It can be found in the upper-left corner of your Mac's display. There will be a drop-down menu.
  • Save the file to your computer.... The drop-down menu contains this choice. This will open a new window.
  • Give your file a name. Fill in the 'Name' text box at the top of the window with whatever you want to call the PDF.
  • Choose a location to save the file. Click the folder where you want to save your PDF on the left side of the window.
  • Select 'File Format' from the drop-down menu. It can be found near the bottom of the window. There will be a drop-down menu.
  • Select PDF from the drop-down menu. The 'Export' part of the drop-down menu contains this option.
  • To see this option, you may need to scroll down in the drop-down menu.
  • Click the Export button. It's a blue button in the window's bottom-right corner. Your PDF will be saved in the selected file location as a result of this action.
