Steps to fix it:

  • Chrome: Close Unwanted Tabs-If you have too many tabs open on your Chrome browser, it may slow down the application. If you try to play a large video after that, the browser may hang as well. Launch Google Chrome and press on the top-right button to switch between tabs to repair the video not playing in Chrome mobile. You can shut any tab by swiping it closed, or you can use the 'Close all tabs' icon at the top to close all of Chrome's tabs at once.
  • Disable the Data Savings Option-Both iPhone and Google Chrome include built-in options that can limit your device's internet consumption, such as Data Saver and Low Data. The functionality can cause the video not to play in Chrome mobile issue if you have reached your data limit and are trying to load an HD video. To remedy this, go to Network Settings > Mobile Data on your phone and disable the 'Low Data Mode' function.
  • Chrome's Data Should Be Removed-To do so, go to Chrome's Menu>Settings > Privacy and select Clear browsing history, cache, and other files from the drop-down menu. To remove all of your saved stuff, select 'Clear All' and confirm your decision to reset Chrome.
