Why does my Android phone detect a sim card but there is no signal but the same sim card is working fine in other phones?

Check to see whether your phone is not in flight mode, if your network provider can be located manually under Network Settings, and if your sim card works on phones other than yours. If your mobile modem works on other phones but not on yours, and your phone isn't in flight mode, it's a problem with your modem.
