How can I troubleshoot Google Chrome since it is not downloading?

  • Blocked Downloads-When your computer's security settings prevent you from downloading a file in Google Chrome, the downloads blocked error appears. The 'Internet Properties' dialogue box will appear. Go to the 'Security' page, choose 'Internet' from the zone drop-down menu, and then select 'Custom Level.' Now you must locate 'Downloads.' To do so, simply press D to locate the Downloads option. Select the 'Enable' option. Only enable downloading if you are confident in the file's source.
  • Virus Scan Failed or Virus Detected-When the security level or antivirus software rejects the download, Chrome displays the virus detect error. In this instance, you must be cautious when downloading files.
  • The Network Has Failed-When you try to download something from Chrome as if you were installing an extension, you may get this error.
  • Inadequate Permissions or a Busy System-When you try to download a file using Chrome, you may see the error 'Insufficient Permissions or system busy.' Cancel the download and try again.
  • Insufficient storage or a full disc-When you don't have enough storage space on your hard drive, you'll get this error. Your download may not even start or may stop in the middle if you have low partition storage or a hard disc with little memory.
