- On Android's exclusive download centre Play Store – older versions of WhatsApp are not available. As a result, the software would have to be obtained through a 'unknown' third-party source. As a result, you'll need to enable installation from unknown sources in order to continue. Select Security, find Unknown sources, and then 'Allow installation of software from unknown sources' under Settings > Apps.
- Make a Google Drive backup of your chats: Open WhatsApp and go to Settings > Chat > Chat backup (menu icon). Then follow these steps to delete WhatsApp from your phone: Uninstall WhatsApp by going to Settings > Apps > WhatsApp > Uninstall > (Action to Confirm)
