Jagdeep Dhankar was sworn in as the Governor of which state?

Jagdeep Dhankhar (born 18 May 1951) is an Indian politician who belongs to the Bharatiya Janata Party. Since 2019, he is serving as Governor of West Bengal. He is also an advocate at the Supreme Court of India, and was a member of Lok Sabha from 1989 to 1991 where he represented Janata Party from Jhunjhunu constituency from Rajasthan.

On July 30, 2019, President Ram Nath Kovind appointed him as the Governor of West Bengal. In 2003, he joined the Bharatiya Janata Party. He has also been an MLA from Kishangarh in Rajasthan. Apart from this, he has also held the responsibility of the post of Chairman of Rajasthan High Court Bar Association. He has been a member of the ICC International Court of Arbitration.

He is currently having a stalemate relation with the current Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee whose TMC government is termed as "Anti-Hindu" and she has even gone on record to name Dhankhar as centre's agent but in practicality, it is the President of India who appoints the governor and not the ruling party.
