Priya competed with 26 other women from across the country in Melbourne, Australia to win the title. Now she will represent Australia in the Miss Universe competition later this year. She is a law graduate who currently works in the Department of Jobs, Precincts, and Regions in Melbourne city.

Western Australia's ‘Bella Kasimba’ and another ‘Victorian Marijana Radmanovic’ became the first and the second runner-up of the 2019 Miss Universe Australia title. Serrao was born to Indian parents in Secunderabad, Hyderabad, and the southern city of India. After winning the title in an interview she said, she entered the contest on a whim but now when she has come a long way and won the title. Now she would like to utilize the platform to promote diversity and inclusion in different fields.

Both the ladies were from an Indian background and have one of their parents from India. However, both the ladies didn’t get success in winning any of the beauty pageant titles outside their home countries.
