India’s first ‘Voter Park’ was inaugurated in Vikas Sadan building complex at Gurugram in Haryana Its sole aim was to increase the voter awareness and educating people about the electoral process.

Where did Indias first Voter Park inaugurated

‘Rajeev Ranjan’ the Chief Electoral Officer of Haryana was inaugurated the park. The objective of introducing the Voter Park was always to motivate the eligible voters to go out and vote in the 2019 Lok Sabha Election so that they can contribute to the progress of the country and make their valuable vote and voice be counted. As well as, a 'Selfie Point' was also set up in the park, where the people can click their selfies while displaying the indelible ink mark on their finger after casting their valuable vote.
In addition to all this motivation by the government, a song was also launched to make people aware in exercising their voting rights. The song was sung by Swaty, a student of the Government Women College, Gurugram, "Vote Ka Hai Adhikar, Suno Re Vote Ka Hai Adhikar". At the Voter Park, all the visiting and interested voters will get the information about the process of election and casting their vote as well as the history of elections in the country. A model of the electronic voting machine and VVPAT machine has been placed on a table in the park to give an introduction about the machine to the first time voters. Gurugram district has always voted proactively. In the previous elections the voting percentage of Gurugram was more than 70 percent. It was just a step to keep this interest grow and maintain this healthy trend to continue.

However, it has been expected to achieve the largest ever voter turnout in the Lok Sabha elections in Gurugram, Haryana, therefore, the district administration is leaving no stone unturned to ensure that there is a large scale turnout.
