Cashew (binomial nomenclature: Anacardium occidentale / Anacardium occidentale) is a type of tree whose fruit is very popular for dry fruits. Cashew import-export is also a big trade. Many types of sweets and wines are also made from cashew nuts. 

The cashew tree is a fast-growing tropical tree that produces cashew and cashew seeds. Cashew originates from Brazil. But nowadays it is cultivated in most of the countries of the world. The cashew tree normally grows from 13 to 14 meters. However, the dwarf cultivar species of cashew which grows up to a height of 6 meters is proving to be very beneficial due to early preparation and high yield.

Commercial cultivation of cashew is increasing day by day as cashew has become an essential part of snacks or snacks in all important events or festivals. Cashew is also in great demand in foreign markets. Cashew is a very fast growing tree and after three years of planting it starts flowering and ripening within two months. Better management of the garden and selection of high yielding cultivars can prove very beneficial for commercial growers.
