The National Girl Child Day 2021 is being commemorated around the country with the goal of raising awareness about the dropping Child Sex Ratio (CSR) and creating a good environment around respecting the girl child.

On January 24, National Girl Child Day, the Odisha state government honors individuals and organizations that have worked to make villages free of child marriage. Odisha has a child marriage rate of 21.3 percent, which is lower than the national average of 26.8 percent.
