The instructions below will assist you in setting up a personal email (POP/IMAP) account on your new iPhone:


  1. From the Home screen, choose Settings.
  2. Select Mail, Contacts, and Calendars from the drop-down menu.
  3. Then, hit the Add Account option.
  4. Choose the type of account you wish to use. (Examples include iCloud, Google, Yahoo, and Other.)
  5. If your email provider isn't listed, select Other.
  6. Fill in the required account information, such as your name, email address, and password.
  7. Depending on the account type, several options may be available.
  8. In the upper-right corner of the screen, tap Next.
  9. You may also customize the sync settings, such as Mail and Contacts, to suit your needs. Toggle the functionality on (enable) or off (disable) by tapping the switch (disable).
  10. Select an account type (POP or IMAP). It's at the very top of the screen.
  11. Fill up the needed account information, such as your name and email address.
  12. Enter the relevant server information, such as Host Name, IP Address, and Port Number. etc. into the applicable fields.
