Some upgrades are programmed to automatically override device settings. If this occurs, there's a greater risk that some settings will conflict. It's possible since not all devices are set up in the same way as test devices are. As a result, the update may run smoothly on some devices but not on others. In this situation, resetting all of the settings may be beneficial. You can then configure the necessary choices after restoring all system settings to their default or original levels.

  1. Reset the device by going to the Settings-> General-> Reset menu.
  2. Select the option to Reset all settings. This will remove Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and other system settings without damaging data.
  3. Enter the right passcode for your device if required.
  4. To confirm that all settings have been reset, tap the button.
After the settings have been reset, trigger your iPhone to reboot (soft reset) to refresh the memory and apply the new settings changes.
