Other functionality on your iPhone, including Touch ID identification, may be disabled due to minor software problems caused by the recent update installation. After an update, a soft reset or reboot is suggested to wipe this off. If you haven't already, soft reset your iPhone 7 by following these steps:

  1. Hold down the Side/Power button until you get the Slide to Power Off instruction.
  2. To turn your iPhone entirely off, drag the slider to the right.
  3. Press and hold the Power button for 30 seconds, or until the Apple logo displays, and then release.
This will not destroy any data saved on the internal memory, therefore you won't lose any important information. A soft reset also clears the cache from the internal memory, including any temporary data that may have been damaged as a result of the update.
