There are instances when the
iOS crashes for no apparent reason, and the device freezes as a result. - For 15 to 20 seconds, press and hold the Volume Down button and the Power key (sleep/wake button) simultaneously.
- The white Apple logo will display if there is enough battery left to turn the iPhone on.
- When this happens, let go of both keys and wait for the device to completely reboot.
This is referred to as a Soft Reset. It's hardwired into the system. the phone so when the appropriate keys are pressed and held, the phone should restart.
