- Connect your Mac computer (or other device) to your Personal Hotspot device, in this case your iPhone 8.
- Check to see whether iTunes detects your iPhone 8.
- Tap Trust to proceed if you receive a warning message that says, 'Trust This Computer.'
- Navigate to the System Preferences-> Network menu on your Mac.
- Choose iPhone USB. If it isn't there, click the Plus icon and then add it.
If you already have a network connection, your Personal Hotspot connection may not activate unless you uncheck the option that states Disable unless needed under Status.
- Select Make Service Inactive after clicking the Settings button (represented by a black wheel-like picture).
- Then scroll down to and choose the option to Make Service Inactive.
With that configuration, your Mac computer will be able to connect to the Internet using the signal broadcasted by your iPhone 8.
