Unless you quit them from the applications drawer, all previously opened apps will continue to run in the background. These apps are in standby mode so that they will load quickly the next time you use them. However, there is a greater possibility that any of these background apps will crash, and if this occurs, other apps and processes may be severely affected. Quitting all background apps would help you get rid of the perpetrators. Here's how to stop background apps on an iPhone 8:

  1. To see all of the apps you've recently used, double-click the Home button.
  2. Swipe right or left in the Apps previews to find the Facebook app.
  3. Swipe up to close the Facebook app preview.
  4. Alternatively, you can simply close all apps.
Restart your iPhone 8 after you have terminated all background apps. A restart can assist clean out any small issues that have occurred.

To do so, hold down the Side (Power) button until the Slide to Power Off screen appears. To totally switch off the gadget, move the slider to the right. Wait around 30 seconds, then press and hold the Side button until the Apple logo appears.
