If you suspect your iPhone has been hacked or infected with malware, the first step is to wipe it clean. You may accomplish this by performing a factory reset. Before doing a factory reset, make sure you have backed up your images and movies to iTunes or iCloud. To factory reset your iPhone 8, follow the instructions below:
  1. Open the Settings application.
  2. Select General.
  3. Restart by pressing the Reset button.
  4. Erase All Content and Settings is the last option.
  5. Enter your passcode if prompted.
  6. Erase your iPhone by pressing the Erase button.
Avoid visiting suspicious sites
You can use a web browser on your iPhone 8 to surf websites just as you can on a PC. If you are not cautious when visiting websites, malware or viruses may be put into your device. Some links on a website may be booby-trapped, allowing viruses to proliferate and take control of your device once you click on them. The same may be said for malware that operates through email. In general, only click on a link that comes from a reputable source. Avoid clicking on anything if the website or email link appears to be shady.
