iTunes may be used to transfer files.
You may build an encrypted backup of your old iPhone or iPad using iTunes and then restore it to your new iPhone X to save time and effort throughout the setup process. This will allow you to restore the previous backup, which will include the majority, if not all, of your password information. You'll need a computer with the newest iTunes version installed to utilize iTunes to migrate your data to your new iPhone X. Then take the following steps:
- Using the included USB or Lightning connector, connect your prior iPhone or iPad to your computer.
- On your computer, launch or open iTunes.
- By tapping on the device symbol in the upper right corner, you may select your prior iOS device.
- Back-Up Now should be selected.
- After that, select Encrypt Backup and provide a password.
- If asked, skip the Backup Apps option.
- When you're done, disconnect your old iPhone or iPad and turn it off.
- If you don't have a new SIM card or a separate SIM card for your new iPhone X, just remove your old iPhone's SIM card and insert it into your new iPhone.
- Connect your iPhone X to your computer using the included USB cord after turning it on.
- On your iPhone, slide to set up.
- Select your language and set up your Wi-Fi network on your new iPhone by following the on-screen instructions.
- Choose Restore from iTunes backup from the drop-down menu.
- On iTunes on your computer, select the option to Restore from this backup.
- Select the recent backup you want to use.
- If prompted, enter your password. Encrypted backup requires a correct password.
