Keep things simple.
Some users utilize camera attachments to improve their experience, however, these same gadgets can sometimes bring issues. Remove any accessories you're using, whether it's an external cause, a detachable lens, or anything else. Simply restore your iPhone to its original state by uninstalling any modifications, and then test the camera. If the problem disappears after that, one of your accessories is faulty.

Force the camera app to close.
In the past, restarting the camera app was known to cure small issues in older iPhone models. Make sure to test it out on your iPhone X, too. Follow these steps to do so:

  1. From the Home screen, swipe up and pause.
  2. Firmly touch and hold the app, then tap the red circle with a horizontal line inside. You can also swipe up to close the app as soon as you see the red circle with a horizontal line inside.
