Apple iPhone X shows up “liquid detected” error when charging

The most reasonable thing to do when a mistake appears is to follow it. If your iPhone is attached to a lightning accessory, you should unplug it right away. The error notice should be taken seriously because the phone most likely detected moisture in the port.

After removing the Lightning attachment, set your phone upright on a dry surface for a few hours to dry up the moisture. Here are some more things you should or should not do...

  1. Turn off your iPhone X.
  2. When the alert appeared, air dries the Lightning item you had attached to your iPhone.
  3. Do not blow into the port or shake the phone, as this may cause the liquid to seep farther inside the phone.
  4. Whether the battery is low or not, do not attempt to charge your iPhone.
Air-drying the wet in your iPhone's lightning port as well as the attachment takes only one hour or two. Turn on your iPhone X to see whether the issue persists, or attach the accessory to see if the error is still present. If it still appears, you should probably take it to an Apple store to get it checked because the problem could be caused by something.
