- You can use a card to import photographs from a digital camera or to store information if your Mac has an SD (Secure Digital) or SDXC (SD extended capacity) card slot.
- Inserting the card into your Mac, if it has been formatted by a digital camera, is the same as attaching the camera to your Mac.
- Insert an SD card into the slot with the card's metal contacts face down and pointed towards the computer.
- To eject an SD card, pick it in the Finder window's sidebar, then click File > Eject. Remove the card from the slot once the card's icon has vanished from the sidebar.
- If you get a message claiming the card can't be changed, it's possible the slider on the side of the card is locked. Remove the card, move the slider to the unlocked position, and then re-insert it.
