When I select a refurbished Macbook Pro to purchase, can I ask Apple to add RAM?
  • There are no Macsthat allow you to upgrade the processor that is already installed.
  • Except for the old Mac Pro, no Mac allows you to update the graphics card currently installed in the computer.
  • Because a refurb has already been created and returned, these can only be modified before a new purchase.
  • You cannot update RAM or storage on a more contemporary Mac notebook, such as a MacBook Air or MacBook Pro Retina with permanent RAM and SSD storage.
  • You can't update the RAM on most recent Macs yourself. The RAM in newer MacBook Pro and MacBook Air models is soldered to the motherboard. Although some later iMacs feature user-upgradeable RAM, doing so necessitates a complete dismantling of the computer.
