  • Connect your old computer to your iMac Pro via a cable, such as a Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) connector, for the quickest migration.
  • You can copy data from a storage device (such as an external disc) to your iMac Pro if you utilised Time Machine to back up your files from another Mac. See Make a backup of your Mac and then restore it.
  • Files are copied from a storage device. Connect the storage device to a USB-A port on your iMac Pro (the USB icon) or a Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) port on your iMac Pro (the Thunderbolt icon), then transfer files from the storage device to your iMac Pro.
  • Recover your data. See the Apple Support article Restore your Mac from a backup for instructions on how to restore your Mac from a Time Machine or other backup.
