- Without running a wireless network, the Time Capsule can still function as a wired network router and DHCP server via its LAN ports. So, both of these things must be checked.
- A wireless connection will not allow the Time Capsule to connect to the mesh WiFi network. A wired Ethernet connection is required. You can hide the Time Capsule anyplace there is AC power and an Ethernet cable that can reach up to 100 metres (328 feet) in length.

- Go to the Utilities folder in the Applications folder and open AirPort Utility.
- Click Continue after selecting your Time Capsule. Select your Time Capsule from the list of accessible wireless devices.
- Set up your Time Capsule and wireless network by following the onscreen instructions.
