What is Swachh Bharat Abhiyan ? and What is it


With an ambition to make our country pollution free, it’s a giant campaign started by our honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 2, 2014, at Rajghat, New Delhi. Its goal is to provide sanitation facilities to all families by 2 December 2019, solid and liquid waste disposal system, cleanliness in the village and adequate drinking water availability.

What is Swachh Bharat Abhiyan ? and What is it 
The Prime Minister himself is playing a proactive role in making this campaign a success; On Rajghat, he himself cleaned the streets and started this campaign. 

Whereas it has already been determined that this campaign is not only the duty of the government, but the responsibility of making the nation clean is all citizens of this country. 

History of Swachh Bharat Mission

The movement of Swachh Bharat movement has been a major step towards sanitation till date. In order to make this campaign world-wide and to make the public aware of it, about 3 lakh government employees, including schools and college students, took part in it on its commencement.

What is Swachh Bharat Abhiyan ? and What is it

The program was organized in Rashtrapati Bhavan on October 2, 201,4 in the presence of 1,500 people. Indian President Pranab Mukherjee started the movement by showing the flag.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has nominated nine famous people associated with trade, sports and film industries to pursue this campaign. He also pleaded with the nine persons that they and nine persons should join this campaign and bring this movement of cleanliness to every Indian living in the corners of the country.

What is Swachh Bharat Abhiyan ? and What is it

Narendra Modi said that this campaign should be taken as a challenge and should invite other nine people (like branches of trees), by which this approach of cleanliness will be completed by 2019.
