The first Electronic Computer was invented by an American Physicist “John Vincent Atanasoff” in the year 1939. He invented the Electronic Computer at ‘Iowa State College’. Later, the machine was named as ‘Atanasoff- Berry Computer’ (ABC).

Who invented the Electronic Computer?
His invention came into recognition when President George W. Bush awarded him the ‘United States National Medal of Technology’ in the year 1990 and is the highest US honor in the field of Technological Process. The ABC computer includes Binary Math and Boolean Logic for solving up to 29 simultaneous Linear Equations. It has no CPU (Central Processing Unit) but was designed using Vacuum Tubes for Digital Computation. In Atanasoff-Berry Computer regenerative Capacitor Memory was used like DRAM Memory in present time.
Bulgaria named an award on him and present it every year with the title named ‘John Atanasov Prize’. In 1978, he was honored with the title of ‘Iova Inventors Hall of Fame’. In 1981, received ‘Computer Pioneer Medal’ from the Institute of Electrical and Electronics’ Engineering.
