The book ‘Strictly Personal, Manmohan and Gursharan’ was written by the daughter of Manmohan and Gursharan “Daman Singh”. The book was released on August 5, 2014. The book is the unknown story of India’s 13th Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his wife.

Daman Singh daughter of Manmohan Singh revealed the untold story of her father and mother, and let people know about the Family Man who Manmohan Singh is not the man everyone knows as the Politician or ex-Prime Minister. The book narrated the fact that after Jawaharlal Nehru, he is the only person who was having so much influence on India and its Economic Policies. In the book she even narrated the childhood story and struggle of Manmohan Singh, that how as a young boy his struggle was, he lost his mother at a very young age, and his family during the Partition of India.
During the book release, the writer even mentioned that his father Manmohan Singh was very much in the dilemma that the book should have to write or not, which completely depends on him. She even explained his father experience during the Emergency period. She said, the Emergency was like a surprise for him, and the atmosphere of Country was very fearful for him to experience that. As well as, she even revealed her feeling by saying that, it was very upsetting for her to see the changed public opinion which was against him at the end of his 10-year working tenure for the Country. And this makes her feel bad that why people refer his father as a ‘Silent’, for that she is coming with a collection of everything he said in those last 10 years.
The writer Daman Singh is the daughter of Manmohan Singh and Gursharan Kaur. She completed her Graduation from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi in Mathematics subject in the year 1984, and completed her Post Graduation from the ‘Institute of Rural Management’. She wrote another book ‘The Last Frontier: People and Forests in Mizoram’ in the year 1996.
