The South Asia Study Centre at Sichuan University released the book in July 2014. The book is a biography based on Narendra Modi's life and economic outlook. It was released in Chinese by Sichuan University's South Asia Study Centre, which was attended by Dr Lokesh Chandra, President of ICCR, Professor SK Sopory, Vice-Chancellor of JNU, and Vandana Bisht Vijay, the author's wife.

Modi stated in his greeting for the book, dated April 15, 2014, that he hoped it would give Chinese friends a taste of what is going on in India right now. Modi stated that the book will serve as a window into India's current situation and that it will ideally assist to open up 'understanding and companionship.' In the presence of Union Ministers Arun Jaitley and M Venkaiah Naidu, Vijay delivered the book to Modi on Tuesday.
