“Akbar- The Aesthete” was written by Dr. Indu Anand, and was launched in March 2014. The book was launched by the then Vice-President of India “Mr. Hamid Ansari”, in New Delhi.

The book is a presentation of the compressed form of Mughal Era of Jalal-ud-Din Mohammad Akbar. He was the most powerful Mughal Emperor of his time. Akbar was a great Aesthete, it means, he was the person who recognizes and values beauty in art, music, etc. His royal studio was always filled with Persian and Indian Artists and take inspiration to paint numerous emotive miniatures of style and substance.
Dr. Indu Anands book ‘Akbar- The Aesthete’ is a notable contribution to the study of social and material culture in the Mughal era through miniatures of that period.
She received numerous awards such as Women Achiever Award, Life Time Achievement Award, Women’s Achievement Award, Dr. Radhakrishnan Memorial Award, Mahila Shiromani Award, and Indira Gandhi Priyadarshani Award.
