“Unaccustomed Earth” is written by ‘Nilanjana Sudeshna Lahiri’ famously known as “Jhumpa Lahiri” and the book is a collection of Short Stories. The book was published in the year 2008. It is a collection of eight small stories, which explore the secrets at the heart of family life.
‘Unaccustomed Earth’ is preceded by the novel “The Namesake” and followed by “The Lowland”. Jhumpa Lahiri is of Indian Origin, American author. She received the award “Frank O’Connor International Short Story Award” in 2008 for her book Unaccustomed Earth.
Currently, she is in ‘Princeton University’ a professor of Creative Writing in the Lewis Centre for the Arts. In 2014, she was awarded “National Humanities Medal”. She won ‘Pulitzer Prize’ and the ‘PEN/Hemingway Award’ for her debut collection of Short-stories in 1999 for ‘Interpreter of Maladies’.
