The goal of the book is to inform and educate policymakers, scholars, and readers about the role of Islam in the pursuit of knowledge and education.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi read an excerpt from Professor JS Rajput's book, Education of Muslims: An Islamic Perspective of Knowledge and Education in the Indian Context, on June 15, 2015.

The book includes 16 articles written by various scholars and historians, including JS Rajput, on a variety of topics such as understanding Islam, the role of Islam and its educational institution's madrasas in knowledge dissemination, and the educational status of Muslims children in India, among others.

JS Rajput is a well-known educator and historian. He served as Chairman of the National Council for Teacher Education and as a previous head of the National Council for Educational Research and Training. The United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) awarded him the coveted Jan Amos Comenius Medal for distinguished contributions to research and innovation.

Publications by Shipra, J S Rajput wrote the book, which was published on January 1, 2014. The book is 430 pages long.
