‘India at Risk - Mistakes, Misconceptions, and Misadventures of security policy’ was written by Former External Affair Minister ‘Mr. Jaswant Singh’. The book was launched by him in March 2014

When was the India at Risk written?
In the book, he highlighted the various Indian Security Issues of the past 60 years. He discussed many issues, conflicts and the consequences of the security related policy of India. In the book India at Risk – Mistakes, Misconceptions, and Misadventures of Security Policies he put some light on various issues which took place during his appointment as External Affairs and Minister of Defence. The incidences are, IC 814 Hijacking to Kandahar in 1999, The Kargil War, 2011 The Parakaram Operation, etc.
He also narrated some historical events like Indo-China War, Indo-Pak War, the Emergency Phase, Kargil, etc. Overall he included various incidences from past 60 years to the way forward.
Jaswant Singh is one of the most renown and respected names in India’s public life, and in the world of diplomacy. He belongs to the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP). At present, he is the Member of Parliament in Lok Sabha. With this, he is at his ninth term as a Parliament Member, across both the houses. He is the only Member of Parliament who simultaneously holds both the positions of Minister of External Affairs and the Minister of Defence. From 1998 to 1999 he holds the position of ‘Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission of India’. From 2004 to 2009 he was the leader of the opposition in the Rajya Sabha.
‘India at Risk’ is the eleventh book of Mr. Singh in English. As well as he has written eleven books in Dingal, two in Hindi and one in French languages. In addition to this, he has six more books in his pipeline.
