Moti Bagh Palace is located in Patiala, Punjab, India. It is a palace in Patiala which was built in the 1840s(the old quarters) by the Maharaja of Patiala. The palace was expanded during the reign of Maharaja Bhupinder Singh. The palace was expanded under the supervision of Sir Ganga Ram in the 1920s. The Government of India took charge of the palace and converted it into a museum after independence. Old Moti Bagh Palace is now the seat of North Zone Cultural Centre. To the east wing of the palace is situated the National Institute of Sports (NIS). The annual Patiala Heritage festival is celebrated here. The New Moti Bagh Palace is the residence of the Chief Minister of Punjab (Maharaja Patiala Captain Amarinder Singh).
Captain Amarinder Singh (born on March 11th, 1942) an Indian politician from Indian National Congress is the 26th Chief Minister of Punjab. He assumed office on 16th March 2017. He was the Member of Parliament from 26th May 2014 to 23rd November 2016 representing Amritsar. He was the Captain of the Sikh Regiment in the Indian Army from 1963 to 1965. Captain Amarinder Singh is also the chairman of Punjab Urdu Academy.

Guru Tegh Bahadur (Nanak IX) was the ninth Guru of the Sikh religion.
