Snehlata Shrivastava, a 1982 batch IAS officer from Madhya Pradesh is the new secretary general of Lok Sabha in India. She is the first women secretary of Lok Sabha and assumed charge on1 Dec 2017, and her tenure will end on 30 Nov 2018. She took charge a day after when Anoop Mishra relinquished the post. Snehlata was till secretary (Justice) in law ministry. She was a senior civil servant with 35 years of rich administrative experiences and has a special status of cabinet secretary.
