Prakash Javadekar is the Minister of Human Resource and Development (MHRD). He assumed office on 5th July 2016 under Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi.

 Prakash Javadekar was born on 30th January 1951 in Pune, Bombay State, India (now in Maharashtra, India). He belongs to the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP). He has held several portfolios under the Government of India. Mr Javadekar was the Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs from 26th May 2014 to 9th November 2014 under Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi. Simultaneously Mr Javadekar was also the Minister of State (Independent Charge) of the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting in the same time period. He was the Minister of State (Independent Charge) of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change from 26th May 2014 to 5th July 2016 under Prime Minister Modi. Mr Javadekar represented Maharashtra as a Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha till 2014. Post-2014 Mr Javadekar represented Madhya Pradesh as a Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha. He was the Member of the Maharashtra Legislative Council from 1990 to 2002. Mr Javadekar had received B.Com (honours) degree from the University of Pune. He is also the official spokesperson of the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP).
